Where do I go to vote?

Check your registration status and find your polling place here.

Why do I need to vote?

Many of the candidates are running unopposed this year so that leaves two main races to watch:

City Council (Ward 5)

  • William “Bill” Bush (Republican)
  • Juli Clay

Board of Education Member (District 3)

  • Willie Mitchell
  • Chad Payne

Local politics have the greatest effect on your everyday life. The candidates elected to these positions will make many important decisions about the city of Gainesville as its population continues to expand. The city is expected to add 5,000+ residents in the next 5 years and 15,000 in the next 20 years.

The candidates you choose will decide when and where to add more schools, fire houses and Public Safety officials. They will also decide how to improve traffic and infrastructure, and they’ll play a huge role in the development of Downtown and Midtown.

What does Bill Bush support?

While this election is officially non-partisan, Bill Bush wants you to know that he’s the Republican running for City Council (Ward 5). You can read more about his plans for the city here.

See you at the polls!
